Who is challenged?

Tigran Arsenashvili, a correspondent of “Regnum” agency writes the following concerning Armenia in his article entitled as “Southern Caucasus expects “consciousness” from Russia”: “The existing political situation in Armenia significantly differs from that before the elections of 2003. Former president Levon Ter-Petrosyan followed his curators’ advices and decided to nominate his candidacy for presidency and recently during a press conference in Yerevan he just discovered a state revolution plan. “In 10-20 days the tax, police and law-enforcement officials will not be governed by Serzh Sargsyan any more,” said Ter-Petrosyan and added that some works were being conducted in the local Media and through foreign TV companies for that purpose. Serzh Sargsyan, who is the main competitor of the first president, is challenged professionally. Ter-Petrosyan is a politician with great experience and it is not a secret for anyone that the coming competition will proceed according to the above mentioned “administrative resource against consciousness” scenario. There is no sense to look for fairness in the society, thus Ter-Petrosyan is very decisive and has decided to ruin the authorities’ bearing point, which is the governmental pyramid. According to certain information, the plans are mostly focused on loyal regional headquarters, including administrators, officials of state and budget institutions and law-enforcement bodies and army people. In order to “bribe” the society, they have developed a program with populism, which envisages that the budget will be increased by three times, the GDP – twice, etc.” The reporter concludes that basing on the abovementioned, the following can be said about Armenia: “The inner political picture has been formed with its most dangerous form, which is controversy between two different poles – clan and revanche-clan systems”.
