Ex-president of Belarus (1991-94) Stanislav Shushkevich and ex-PM of Bulgaria (1991-92) Philip Dimitorv have sent a letter to the first president of Armenia, Levon Ter-Petrosyan. The letter writes the following: “We are sincerely happy and are supporting professor Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s new involvement in the political field of his great country – Armenia. Ter-Petrosyan had led the peaceful struggle, which united the civic society of Armenia to demand freedoms, independence, fairness and also state independence. As a French professor of Soviet sciences writes, “the wall of Berlin started to collapse from Armenia,” when this small country, being led by Ter-Petrosyan, opened a way for the ideologies, which developed in other democratic movements and groups of societies successfully, inclusively in Baltic countries, Ukraine, Moldova and Russia… Involvement of such experienced and well-informed scientist and organizer in the processes in Armenia will enrich the country with election opportunity, debate and different democratic opinions, thus helping the great talent of the Armenians to serve for the purposes of solving difficult problems in the future. The first president of the first Christian country is returning to make his country be the First”.
