“Heritage Foundation” has given leading positions to Armenia in its report on economic freedoms in the countries of the world. Such positive estimation has been given to the Armenian government by “Foreign Policy” magazine in 2007. The mentioned organization published indexes of failures on the part of different countries, where Armenia occupied the 112th place among 177 countries, which, according to the mentioned organization, contemplates higher stability and development levels.
To note, the lower a country’s occupied place is, the more stabile and developed it is. As an example, the most stabile countries in the report are Sweden, Finland and Norway, which occupy the 175th, 176th and 177th places. In the previous report Armenia occupied the 89th place among 146 countries, which means that it had an achievement in 2007. As for the stability index, Armenia has leading positions in the region (Iran occupies the 57th place, Georgia – 58, Azerbaijan – 62, Turkey – 92). Armenia’s absolute estimation has been improved too, thus becoming 70,3 from 71,5.
According to the mentioned information, in 2007 there were improvements in the field of demography, outflow of human resources, economic stability, legitimacy of state and decriminalization, effective state management and human rights protection.
