There have been no preconditions for the recent increase of cement prices in Armenia. “The cement raw materials are domestic, the energy prices have not been increased either,” said the head of the “Armenian consumers’ rights protection” non-governmental organization Abgar Eghoyan yesterday. According to him, the prices of cement in the Armenian market are managed by several companies, which are the main participants of the market. “Armenpress” has been informed by the prices and international comparison department of the RA national statistics service that the median market price of one 50 kg cement bag in January-September of this year was 2.226 dram. The median annual price of one 50 kg cement bag was 2.137 in 2006. In 2004 it cost 1518 dram, which is cheaper by 46.6% than the current market prices.
