According to human right watchers during the past 5 years Armenia has regressed in terms of freedom of speech. They made such a statement during the press conference held yesterday. For example, the director of Helsinki Association Avetik Ishkhanyan by quoting the 2007 three-color map of the Freedom House, mentioned, “Green -freedom of speech is guaranteed, yellow – party freedom of speech, violet – no freedom speech. Among the CIS countries Armenia is in violet.” According to him in Armenia the regress of the freedom of speech was launched in 2002. It is when A1+ TV channel was deprived of broadcast license. And at present all the TV companies are being carefully controlled.
