Yesterday the RA NA has started to discuss the draft on the amendments of the Code on income tax. According to the draft it is offered to tax all the offshore organizations. This means that if the offshore non-resident companies receive profit during their activity they will be taxed by 10% when they transfer the incomes from Armenia. The draft offers the government to define the offshore zones and make a list of such organizations/companies. According to the deputy-head of the State Tax Service of Armenia Armen Alaverdyan the document is aimed at creating equal condition for local and foreign investors. Also, the NA Standing Committee on Economic Issues gave a positive assessment to the recommendations of the government by calling it a “step to increasing economic sovereignty of the country.”
