HayPost CJSC continues the series of its explorations. During the internal inspections of the company about 2 billion AMD irregularities were found out (gas purchase, vehicle repair and service).
HayPost" CJSC (Armenian Post), managed by "HayPost Trust Management" CJSC Dutch Company since the end of November, 2006, accused RA Transport and Communication Ministry of aiding the illegal activity of "Namakanish" (Stamp) CJSC. As the "HayPost" informs the Company was caused damage to the sum of 300 million drams ($892,000 by current rate) as a result of illegal issue of postage stamps by the "Stamp" CJSC. In view of this, the "HayPost" CJSC addressed the Ministry for explanations. Moreover, the results of internal inspections have shown that 2083 subscribers out of 2311 users of the corporate package of VivaCell operator, are not employees of the "Haypost" CJSC. These employees enjoyed benefits illegally and they caused damage to the Company at the rate of 21 million drams ($62,000). If the Company did not suppress this activity, its debt for the cell communication could grow up to 200 million drams. The "Haypost" CJSC appealed to RA Law Machinery for investigation. Meanwhile, in an interview with "Aravot" Armenian newspaper, RA Transport and Communication Minister Andranik Manukyan called the actions of the "Haypost" Company’s Director the blackmail, aimed at smashing the Company. "Instead of blackmail, let them be so kind to meet their obligations and not accumulate debts", the minister said. HayPost CJSC has learned that in 2007 at least 51 different illegal postage stamps have been printed, issued and are being sold both in and outside the Republic of Armenia, which resulted in significant losses for HayPost. HayPost has applied to UPU to invalidate these stamps. These illegal stamps are issued in the name of "Armenia" and are not a valid means for postage. HayPost CJSC strongly denounces and condemns this practice. The company informs, that any mail item that bears an illegal postage stamp will be immediately confiscated by the Postal service, regardless its destination or contents. Currently, all post offices in Armenia have valid and official stamps for postage in stock, and these stamps will be sold in the case of clients need stamps to send letters or parcels. Official and legal stamps bear the words POST and Armenia. Any other postage stamp is considered invalid or illegal. HayPost is a national operator, which functions over the territory of Armenia via its 900 departments. Presently, a number of organizational changes are under way in the company, which mainly aim at providing stable and effective service for the consumers. It’s quite predictable that HayPost will temporarily forget about the new revelations. From HayPost they tell us that they cannot our questions because the director is not in Armenia and new information will be submitted only after the latter’s return.
