The Armenian economy has grown by 11.2% in the first semester of 2007. The field of economy that has grown the most is the service field (18.5%). Construction has boomed by 17.2%, while industry has grown by 1.4%. However, the production of electricity has gone down by 1.9%, and agriculture by 1.2%. Foreign circulation of products has grown by 36.5%, and exports have grown by 20.5%, while imports have grown by 43.9%. There have been imports of products worth 1 billion 365 million dollars, and 527 million dollars worth of exports. So, the negative outflow of foreign trade is 838 million dollars. Based on statistics, in the beginning of this year, only a 3% inflation rate has been registered. These numbers go to show the shameful, ridiculous situation of the Armenian economy, because the supposed 11.2% economic growth drawn by the Statistics administration is nothing when you have a 44% rise of imports.
