“Kinder Surprise”

03/07/2007

Vahan Melkonyan, the head of “Nairit” company Board of Directors, who is also the representative of the CIS intergovernmental bank in Armenia, is in Armenia now. Yesterday the board of directors of this company visited the plant. Following that visit, Mr. Melkonyan fired the director of Nairit company, Karen Israyelyan, saying that he harmed the plant with his work. He said that Israyelyan could not pay the gas, electricity, and water payments of the factory. He said this is despite the fact that he buys rubber from this plant at very cheap prices, and sometimes he doesn’t even pay. According to our information, he is going to return the board president’s position to the son of Andre Narsisyan. Narsisyan was a citizen of France and worked in this position before, and after his death this position was nominally assigned to a person named Grigor Stepanyan, but in fact all decisions were handled by Melkonyan. We have written about this story and stressed that none of Narsisyan’s heirs had appeared to inherit his/her right to the shares. Definitely, very soon, Mr. Melkonyan will make a surprise and announce that Narsisyan’s heir has appeared. According to our information, Narsisyan’s son has already been at Nairit and seen the situation there. It is hard to say what promises they have given to this young man from France. You can read the exclusive interview of Tatyana Serpkova, head of the foreign relations department of the CIS intergovernmental bank, about Nairit in our Armenian edition.
