Yesterday the chair of British company “Populus”, Mr. Andrew Cooper, presented the findings of their survey in Armenia and said that if the parliamentary elections were held this Sunday, the ARP would get 31% and “Prosperous Armenia” – 27% of the votes. According to Mr. Cooper, “Legal State” party would be given 11%, the ARF – 8%, the NU – 7%, and the ADP – 5% of the votes. The other parties would be given only 11% of the votes of the voters covered by the survey.

Forty-two percent of the surveyed voters believe that the Karabakh conflict can be solved in the best manner by the ARP, 19% – by the ARF and 14% – by the PA. In terms of the Genocide issue 29% trust the ARP, 25% – the ARF and 14% – the PA. Thirty-five percent of the surveyed voters believe that the risk of war may be lessened by the ARP. In terms of this issue the PA and ARF have 14% each of the advocates. In terms of national security, 36% of the surveyed voters trust the ARP, and 16% – the PA. “It is clear that the ARP is leading in terms of providing security, decreasing the risk of war, settling the Karabakh conflict and recognizing the Genocide. As for the PA, it is leading in terms of social and domestic issues,” said Mr. Cooper. Fifty-two percent of the surveyed voters think that parties are very important for relations with other countries and decreasing the risk of war, and 28% think that this factor is not very important. Despite the other existing companies, “Populus” is famous for its correct predictions before the British elections of 2005, as they forecasted the outcome with a difference of only1%.
