“Nairit-Chance” in China

25/04/2007

Yesterday, co-chair of the Armenian-Chinese inter-governmental commission and head of the European department of the Chinese trade ministry, Syu Tunkai, said that a new company named “Nairit-Chance” would be operating in China by the end of 2007. It will produce synthetic rubber. He also said that for this purpose China is going to invest $26 mln. For this purpose, they transported one production line from the Armenian “Nairit” factory to China several years ago. It is worth mentioning that there hasn’t been any information about this since the time when the production line was transported. It turns out that the mentioned production line will be used in the Armenian-Chinese company “Nairit-Chance”. The head of “Nairit” company, Karen Israyelyan, assures that 40% of the shares in that company belongs to Armenia (to the ministry of energy). Mr. Israyelyan also assures that the production line that was transported to China is worth less than China’s $26 mln investment.
