By the decree of the Prosecutor General of Armenia Aghvan Hovsepyan, working groups have been created in the departments supervising investigation, preliminary investigation, and state interests’ protection to operatively discuss reports on violations committed during the parliamentary elections to be held on May 12. Based on the decree which has been published in the General Prosecutor’s web-page, the working groups are aimed to coordinate the reception and registration of the reports on violations of the electoral rights and the articles issued by mass media and discussions, and secure the necessary operative work in that field and the practice. One of the working groups is headed by deputy head of the State Interests Protection department of the Prosecutor General’s office Gevorg Harutyunyan, while deputy head of the Preliminary Investigation and Investigation Legalities Supervision department Bagrat Aghayan is in charge of another working group. Head of the public relations and press department of the Prosecutor General’s office Gurgen Ambaryan and press secretary of the Prosecutor General Sona Truzyan have been assigned to follow up on the articles printed in the press regarding electoral right violations and inform the abovementioned working groups immediately in order to discuss them and send reports on the results to the corresponding presses. The Prosecutor General has taken on the responsibility of fulfilling the decree.
