He will do his best

“It is extremely important to maintain the balance of U.S. aid provided to Armenia and Azerbaijan. I am worried that the U.S. government is trying to turn the other way. The Republic of Armenia is a stable and promising ally of the U.S. and for that Armenia needs to be ‘rewarded’ rather than ‘punished’,” said U.S. Congressman Adam Schiff to the “Armenian Reporter”, adding that as member of the Foreign Provisions subcommittee, he will continue the struggle in order to add more aid to Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. He has not welcomed the proposal of the U.S. government to provide more military aid to Azerbaijan, especially since Azerbaijan has an aggressive and militaristic attitude towards Nagorno-Karabakh.

“I think the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict negotiations are no longer on the same track; unfortunately, the Azerbaijani president is not making much effort,” said the Congressman.

He also mentioned that the U.S. must support the enforcement of the Karabagh people’s right of autonomy.

“A couple of years ago, I had the opportunity to visit Nagorno-Karabakh and I was indescribably impressed by the liberal spirit of the people of Karabakh. I will do everything possible to make their efforts a reality. I will continue to demand humanitarian aid for Nagorno-Karabakh, defend its autonomy right and keep ‘bothering’ the U.S. government with those issues,” he announced.
