Sincere

30/03/2007

Yesterday people gathered in the Liberty square of Yerevan to express their respect to the memory of prime minister Andranik Margaryan. Even during the recent rallies organized by the opposition to claim fight against corruption, intimidation and other shortcomings in the country there weren’t so many people in the Liberty square. Yesterday people gathered there for other reasons, which was understood both by the authorities and by the opposition. The representatives of both the government and the opposition gathered together, were standing close to each other and were surprised to see so many people there sincerely expressing their sorry and condolences. This honesty was the power of Andranik Margaryan. This is one of the rare cases when people can stand together next to each other despite their social status, position and age. No one can prevent people get together honestly. Accordingly, the opposition should think about it and not complain that people are disappointed about the situation in the country.
