It was stated during a meeting with President Robert Kocharyan and the majority political forces of the National Assembly that the new Prime Minister would be elected based on the already acquired political agreements. Representative of the Supreme Body of the ARF Armen Rustamyan noted that it would be natural and logical to have the new Prime Minister be from the Republican Party.
“We are ready to defend any candidate from the Republican Party. There are rumors that it may be Serge Sargsyan; if so, we will defend his nomination,” said Rustamyan.
According to the Republican Party’s press correspondent Edward Sharmazanov, the Republican Party council will convey a session soon in order to decide whom it will nominate as candidate for the appointment of Prime Minister.
