Yet in the phase of formation

A number of Armenian Mass Media representatives have jointly made a code of conduct for journalists and voluntarily agreed with the ethical norms of informing and journalism. Yesterday during a seminar entitled “Journalist’s ethics as a base for Mass Media” the head of the OSCE office in Armenia, Mr. Vladimir Pryakhin said that Armenia is still in the beginning phase of forming Media independence, which concerns most of the other CIS countries too. The head of the NA standing commission on education, science and culture, Hranush Hakobyan said that journalists’ ethics depend on personalities and the way they take information from the others. She noted that one of such problems was taking information by cheating people, using that information through the private prism and changing the core information for advertising or PR purposes. She also said that it is very important whether they refuse that information or approve, and as well as it is important to keep the source of their information confidential.
