Robert Kocharyan gave an interview to “Figaro”, where he stated that Armenia is ready to develop diplomatic relations with Turkey without any preconditions. The president of Armenia rejected Turkey’s suggestion to found a group of historians to investigate the incidents of 1915 (the Genocide) and petitioned the Turkish government to found an intergovernmental commission. “Developing relationship between the two countries is not the job of historians, but the job of the governments” said Robert Kocharyan. “Thus we are ready to develop mutual diplomatic relations without any preconditions, found an intergovernmental commission and discuss all the problems, included the most sensible issues” said Mr. Kocharyan.
