“Forgetful” Arthur

20/02/2007

“We should do our best to make sure the upcoming elections are democratic and fair” said the head of “Legal State” party, Arthur Baghdasaryan in his speech in the International Research and Strategy Center of Washington. According to him, the outstanding problems of our country, the problems of Karabakh conflict and the Turkish-Armenian relations can be solved by legitimate authorities only. “We should struggle to organize fair and free elections. Also the international community should be loyal. If there are serious violations, people will go out to streets for sure” assured Arthur Baghdasaryan. It is worth mentioning that when Arthur Baghdasaryan was the speaker, people went out to streets too, but they were beaten. The LS leader says that “It is impossible to violate two elections at one time since the presidential elections are starting in September just following the parliamentary elections”. Mr. Baghdasaryan introduced the Russian-Armenian relations as “slavery” in his speech and noted that they were against such relations. It is again worth mentioning that several years ago the LS developed a bill to the parliament to declare the Russian language as the second official language in Armenia. Probably the LS members are “forgetful” and when saying one thing they don’t remember what they have done before that.
