Who’s the CRU head now?

The appeal court of Armenia decided to uphold the claim of Hrant Khachatryan’s partisans and recognize the decisions of the 17th Constitutional Rights’ Union convention of September 2006 as invalid.

It has been announced that after the decisive convention, Hayk Babukhanyan, who turned CRU leader, is getting ready to appeal against the decision of the court. Founding president of the CRU Hrant Khacharyan, who had announced after the convention that he was leaving the political field, held a press conference along with his partisans at the “Hayeli” club after hearing the decision of the court. Firstly, H. Khachatryan announced that he wasn’t expecting the court to make such a decision. According to him, the next step will be to solve moral issues. He also assured that there won’t be a “hunt for crows” and they are not going to fight against conspirators with their methods.

“They were always trying to place me in bad situations, trying to make me lose control. The conspirators at “Iravunk” were calling me “hopeless”, while the people at the “Panjuni corner” called me “the one who regretted this year”. Some political parties that talked behind our backs during this period now understand everything and repent,” declared Hrant Khachatryan during the press conference. He also informed that it is quite probable that he will still leave the active political field, but for the time being Khachatryan is going to be involved in creating a good atmosphere within the party. H. Khachatryan and his partisans are preparing to organize a new convention as soon as possible and resolve all the issues. On Wednesday, they announced that, according to them, the conspirators have also committed some crimes, including the forging of H. Khachatryan’s signature, etc. H. Khachatryan also announced that although he has resigned from the post of president of the CRU, however he continues to be the leader of that party because the corresponding documental issues haven’t been regulated. He assures that he has no ambitions and doesn’t exclude the downfall of the CRU.
