The head of the foreign affairs faction, ARF member Armen Rustamyan has given interview to “Azatutyun” radio station and said that it is not excluded that following the upcoming parliamentary elections their party may become opposition. “There are two reasons why ARF may not take part in forming government. First, if ARF and the international institutions find that the elections are not fair and democratic. Second, We will not agree to be a part of a government, where we don’t have enough places in the parliament to have influence on decision making” said A. Rustamyan. This means that ARF can still have influence on decision making processes, however they have managed to say that they are not responsible for the existing situation. Anyway, A. Rustamyan also said, “If two political powers can make a coalition without us, we will not be the third power to join them… In a word, we don’t want to become fifth troop in the government”. Mr. Rustamyan thinks that the next political coalition should be formed by the first two parties that will receive more votes. Answering to a question whether he thinks that ARF may be one of those two parties Mr. Rustamyan said, “I think yes, why not? The minimum that we have to do is to keep our positions that we have now. The maximum is that we should do our best”.
