Tolerating is better

There is quite a number of ANM members in the recently formed “Alternative” civil-political group. The “Alternative” demands he resignation of the incumbent government by offering new alternatives. According to the “Alternative” the RA citizens must clearly know what’s going to happen to the government. Unlike the “Alternative” member of another recently formed “Civil disobedience” movement, ANM member, former foreign minister of Armenia, Alexander Arzumanyan thinks that at the moment we should put aside the number of ideological contradictions, which exist among parties, and unite in order to get rid of the current government. And this will be decided during the elections to take place after we get rid of the government. In other words members of the “Alternative” think that for the sake of government change the parties must be united around a single ideology. But Arzumanyan thinks that it’s not necessary. Which one of these approaches is more realistic at present? We asked this question to the ANM board member, former chairman of the foreign re3lations committee of the NA, Hovhannes Igityan. “What these people do may only be welcomed. Each political force and individual picks its way of political struggle. I can’t tell which style is better. The right thing is not to tolerate,” mentioned Igityan and added, “The negative thing is that people, who are educated and intellectual they sit back and don’t get engaged in any process to change the situation in the country. So I welcome anyone, who finds strength to fight against it. I’d condemn those people, who call themselves intelligentsia and the maximum they can do is send a signed letter to the President, where they ask to change the anthem or give them a piece of bread.”
