Didn’t they come to terms?

The reconstruction projects of the Komitas and Tigran Mets streets of Yerevan must be implemented by the “Linsie” fund. However, to this day, the fund hasn’t provided the funding and claims that the documents aren’t ready.

“The Armenian side started working on its own by poring into the soil,” says deputy assessor of the fund Harut Sasunyan.

Those streets remained destructed and create transportation problems. But since it’s winter in Armenia and those streets can become the reasons for accidents, the Armenian authorities decided to finish what they started on their own. Nobody knows just how the Armenian authorities are financing the reconstruction project. The only thing we know is that a couple of days ago, chief architect of Yerevan Samvel Danielyan announced that the reconstruction will end on December 15. The “Yerevan Water” company said that the company is providing funding for the change of the water-pipelines and the sewers.

“ “Yerevan Water” joint-stock company plans to construct a 5156 meter water-pipeline and a 515 meter sewer pipeline in light of the reconstruction project of the Komitas street of the Arabkir community. Funding is provided by “Yerevan Water” based on the contract. The total amount for the construction of the water pipeline is 167 million drams and 7 million for the sewer construction. The project will be implemented by the “Dorozhnik” company and the “Linsie” fund is the client for the ground work and asphalting. In November 2006, 1200 meters of the pipeline were constructed. The jobs are going according to schedule and will end on July 1, 2007,” as stated in the reply of “Yerevan Water” company to “168 Hours” newspaper.
