The Armenian flag at the Rio carnival

One of the most carnival schools of Brazil will represent Armenia during the 2007 Brazilian carnival organized by the initiative of the Armenian General Consulate of San Paolo. One of the five cars brought out to the parade will be 17 meters in length and 12 meters high and will symbolize Armenia as the “cradle of the rebirth of humanity, a country of ancient civilization and the leading Christian nation”. Besides the picture of Mount Ararat and Noah’s Ark, there will also be Armenian cross-stones and scripts written in Armenian on display. The 3 meter golden emblem of Armenia and the 7 meter long national tricolor flag will be up front. The Rio carnival is one of the world’s biggest events and is broadcasted in more than 100 countries.
