The premiere of the CD and book entitled “Real Stories”, published in light of the “Southern Caucasus audiodiaries” project, took place in Stepanakert on November 24 with funding provided by the British “Sources of Reconciliation” NGO. According to the project coordinator in Karabagh Karine Ohanyan, audiodiaries have been recorded since 2004 in Karabagh and currently there are over 200 recordings of real stories about war and peace, refugees, social and other topics. President of the “Tradition” NGO Valeri Balayan said that the societies of the conflicting sides are tired of the same propaganda “and the project helps both sides not to forget the truth that people like them who have the same problems and feelings live right across the border”. As for member of the “Open Society” NGO Naira Hayrumyan, she called on the people to not forget the person standing in front of you, or your neighbor, friend and relative. She also mentioned that these kinds of projects are important due to the fact that the presses don’t really present the issues and lifestyles of the average people. “People are tired of seeing the same president, political activist and deputy on television; they are more interested in the issues and lifestyles of everyday people,” she added.
