Some streets of Yerevan are going to be reconstructed with funding provided by the “Lins” fund. Some of the important roads have been trenched for a while but there is no work being done. That’s why there are heavy traffics on the streets of Yerevan for the past couple of months. The road construction has ceased due to the delay of funding from the “Lins” fund. Some people are of the opinion that the work has stopped and no funding is provided due to the “long, American bureaucracy”. Nobody knows the exact reason, but these delays are already starting to become topics for discussion. We were informed that Catholicos Aram the First of the Great Home of Cilicia had sent a letter of praise to head of the “Lins” fund Kirk Krekorian for granting 4.5 million dollars to the Armenian schools in Lebanon. The Catholicos has assured that the contribution is the beginning of a new life for the Armenian community of Lebanon after the economic hardships that the community faced during Israel’s military operations.
