Head of the Armenian representation of the World Bank Roger Robinson left Armenia on October 27. In his latest interview, he said that the sum of the credits that Armenia had received from the WB during the past four years covered $300 million. Mr. Robinson said that it was possible for Armenia to receive credits from the International Reconstruction and Development Bank based on the development and growth of GDP in the country” said the WB representative.

Before his departure, Mr. Robinson made predictions about the future of Armenia.

“I think that the current authorities will be in power for a long time,” said R. Robinson.

In response to a question as to whether the government led good politics by taking loans from other countries when they say that economy is growing by two digits, Mr. Robinson replied that 12% economic growth was a good mark, however not enough for solving many problems. Mr. Robinson said that the Armenian government didn’t take foreign loans that much. “I think the authorities will be in power for a while, thus there is no need to worry over the country borrowing a lot of money,” said Roger Robinson.
