A couple of minutes after midnight on October 22, some lights went out in different parts of Armenia. One electrician claimed that the shutdowns had to do with the accident which had taken place in Tavriz, Iran. The thing is that Armenia receives a small amount of electricity from Iran and that’s how the distribution of electricity is controlled in some areas. When the flow of electricity from Iran to Armenia stopped just a couple of minutes after midnight due to the accident, the frequency of electricity reduced from 50 hertz. That was the reason why some communities of Armenia didn’t have electricity. The shutdown took as long as it took to increase the amount of local resources and get the frequency level back to where it was. According to our sources, even Armenia is supplying Tavriz with electricity.
