38% in favor of the deportation of Georgians

During a survey conducted in Russia on October 14-17, 38% of Russians said that they are in favor of deporting Georgians from Russia regardless of the fact that they ar citizens of Russia or not. According to “Gazette”, 13% had difficulty in answering, whiel 49% thought that there was no need to deport the Georgians. Out of the surveyed, 55% are of the opinion that the increasing tension of Georgian-Russian relations will lead to chauvinism and extremity. Every second person blames Georgia for the tense relations between Russia and Georgia (51%), while 52% of Russians think that Russia gave a fair reply to the Georgians. According to 18% of the people surveyed, Russia has to start military operations against Georgia, while 71% don’t think that the two should fight against each other.
