The Russian Minister of Communication, Leonid Reiman, said that Armentel was a good active from the political point of view. “We should work there; there is a huge potential for developing the communication institutional capacity”, said the minister and added that the Russian mobile communication operators had already entered the markets of Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan; however, due to strong competition, the companies cannot enter the western markets. In fact, there are two more Russian companies (MTC and “Vimpelcom”) that have applied for purchasing 90% of ArmenTel’s shares.
