It turned out that NA deputy Hakob Hakobyan was connected with crimes committed since 1991, in fact, the state has lost 271 million dram because of the financial mechanisms of the deputy. Nevertheless, the mentioned financial mechanism and crimes would not be revealed if the deputy were not connected with a group crime, which, as NA general prosecutor Aghvan Hovsepyan says, was organized by Hakob Hakobyan on purpose.

The general prosecutor discovered the mentioned violations in the parliament and asked the parliament to cease the deputy’s personal immunity right and “give him to justice”. The general prosecutor accused the deputy in 8 crimes.

During the parliamentary discussions NA speaker Tigran Torosyan said that Hakob Hakobyan had not agreed to be present during the discussions; nevertheless, the deputy appeared in the parliament during the discussions. Before coming to the hall of the parliament Hakob Hakobyan was listening to the speech and arguments of the general prosecutor’s office in the working room of Galoust Sahakyan, the head of the republican faction since they had agreed that Hakobyan should not be there during the discussions so that they don’t give an opportunity to the opposition to “make a show”.

However, Hakob Hakobyan could not stop himself from entering the hall of discussions and he said that all what the general prosecutor said was nonsense. Hakob Hakobyan also said that he didn’t regret for what he had done and he had been where he had to be in time and he had stopped people from killing each other. He petitioned deputies not think that the incident was an awful crime since there are worse things in our country. In addition, the deputy said that the employees of “ArmRusaGazard” branch of Hovtashat community had numerously closed the source of gas before that too and when he visited them to ask them to re-open it they told him that they wouldn’t open the sources until the latter did not bring “lunch” for them and asked something instead. The deputy assured that the officers of gas station of the mentioned community refused to give them anything and thus the employees of the ARG beat those officers and 150 members of the mentioned village community. The deputy said that the women of that community were trying to stop the guys quarrel, however he didn’t let them do that and he interfered himself. In addition, as well as “cowboy Vazir” helped the deputy to stop them quarrel. “Yes, I interfered and stopped them from killing each other. Over 150 citizens participated in that conflict; even two women aged 60 and cowboy Vazir. They were not quarrelling, they were protecting themselves since their opponents were professional sportsmen of karate (12 men)” said Hakob Hakobyan. Nevertheless, the general prosecutor said that they had investigated the details and found out that the sources of gas had not been opened and closed often. Hakob Hakobyan asked the prosecutor why they hadn’t arrested anyone from the opponents since all the participants of the incident had their part in the crime. However, Hakob Hakobyan announced that he was not afraid of justice, just would protect his interests by other means if his interests were violated, “It is your fault, I am not afraid of losing my life and will protect my interests by all means”. Both Hakob Hakobyan and other deputies asked the prosecutor why they hadn’t published their findings if those violations had been done since 1991. Aghvan Hovsepyan answered that they had been collecting the facts since 2001 and had instituted legal proceedings only recently, nevertheless, it is very suspicious and no one believes that argument is true. Concerning the mentioned reply Hakob Hakobyan said, “Why did you check and publish the facts before? Maybe everyone has been given a share and stopped those investigations? If they didn’t check, it means that they had interests”, said the deputy and added with irony, “You say millions… Everyone calculates his own millions and sometimes makes a fault and registers that money in papers. This is not the biggest crime of the century and we are not film producers to assure that the end will be happy”.

Hakob Hakobyan said that he was ready for the legal proceedings, however, noted that the prosecutor’s office had done some illegal things connected with his advocates and him. He said that 35 officers of his gas station had been arrested, the police checked up their apartment without court’s decision and notice, which is a law violation, and added that it was more than four days that they didn’t know anything about those people. He also said that the police didn’t allow him make a phone call and didn’t let him ask for a lawyer either. Instead of that, they didn’t allow the deputy to make any contacts with anyone during 72 hours; they only allowed him to make contact with Tigran Torosyan for a short period. Aghvan Hovsepyan said that the deputy had contacted the head of the “People’s Deputy” faction, Karen Karapetyan too.

By the way, only oppositionists and several independent deputies proposed questions to Aghvan Hovsepyan. Tatoul Manaseryan asked the general prosecutor whether he had a black list and who the next victim in his black list was. The general prosecutor said that he didn’t have such lists; however, it didn’t mean that they would not develop such recommendations in the future too. Stepan Zakaryan (“Justice” alliance) asked the general prosecutor to call the businesses that were dangerous since they already had understood that it was dangerous to have contact with the “ArmRusGazard” company and Grisha Sarkisyan.

Before voting, the factions spoke about their policy standing to the issue. The “people’s Deputy”, “National Unity”, “ULP” and “Rule of Law” said that they hadn’t made any decisions and all the members of their factions were independent to vote. ARF has announced that they were going to vote for ceasing the personal immunity right of the deputy. As for the “Republicans”, as Galust Sahakyan said, they didn’t want to demonstrate any speeches, but they wanted justice, and added that not depending on anything Hakob Hakobyan was their friend.

In other words, yesterday the parliament “gave” Hakob Hakobyan to justice and now the general prosecutor’s office can do anything with him that it can do with other citizens as well. As for the other deputies, after the voting they talked to each other diplomatically to find out the voting records of others; in other words, they were looking for people that had given up with their colleague.

P.S. “They took a tool of bee-keeper that makes smoke and now say that it is a weapon. The bee-keeper goes there every morning and asks for his tool to take care of his bees”, said Hakob Hakobyan and asked where the bee-keeper’s tool and his friends were.
