Leader of “New Times” party, Aram Karapetyan, organized a press-conference, where he spoke about the announcement made by Tigran Urikhanyan, who accused Karapetyan of illegally keeping weapons, drugs and committing other crimes and said, “If I am a drug addict, if I have weapons and have not paid taxes, the Armenian government and the general prosecutor can institute legal proceedings and bring a case against me, if they don’t do that, it means that the mentioned announcement was a political order”. The latter said that Urikhanyan had consulted with the taxation bodies and several governmental representatives. Aram Karapetyan has found out that this was planned by by Serj Sargsyan, Seiran Shahsuvaryan and Tigran Urikhanyan. In addition, he said that Gorik Hakobyan-Arkepiskoposyan played the role of carrying out the action. “Please tell me how a politician knows what another politician has written in his application at the airport and what he has brought with him if the latter does not have contacts with the customs, police or national security bodies?” asked Aram Karapetyan. He petitioned the national security services not to do such “stupid things”. Aram Karapetyan said that the government looked at him based on the methods of the Soviet times: “They drop a pistol and drugs on the table and tell us to choose”. The latter joked that he had chosen the pistol. If the authorities don’t do what he wants them to do the latter promises to complain to the government to give a list of the “foreign and internal agents”. If they don’t do that either, Aram Karapetyan says that he will do that himself before the elections, which he thinks will be held out of turn. Currently there are eight names in the list of Aram Karapetyan, which include names of high-ranking officials as well. He also informed that his party was soon going to adopt an action plan for the anti-criminal program. He said that the organizers of the anti-criminal movement would definitely discuss issues concerning the incidents in “Tets Krug” and the exchange rate changes. Aram Karapetyan also spoke about the recent incidents during his trip to Moscow. It turned out that the customs officers of the airport spoke rudely with Aram Karapetyan and told him to either let them read the papers that he had with him or they wouldn’t let him take the papers, after which Aram Karapetyan tore the papers to pieces and threw them at the customs officers. Aram Karapetyan asked them whether they checked up others the same way or not: “For example, do you check up on Sashik Sargsyan the same way?” As for the papers, Aram Karapetyan said that he had the Russian translation of the press coverage concerning the anti-criminal movement. Aram Karapetyan said that if the customs officers treated him like that one more time, he would use force.
