The RA prosecutor’s office has not informed about any new details concerning the cruel murder in Zar village of Kotayk region as of October 1. For your information, the police found the body of Arthur Khalatyan, born in Yerevan in 1969, with the head cut and put in a bag in a car that belongs to R. Sargsyan (born in 1985). According to our information, A. Khalatyan headed a company owned by Gagik Tsarukyan and was going to sell his apartment on Sayat Nova street of Yerevan and buy a new one. Arthur Khalatyan met R. Sargsyan several days before the incident and the latter wanted to buy his apartment and agreed to pay $140k. On October 1, when the roads were closed because of the visit of Jacques Chirac to Armenia, the criminal suggested Arthur Khalatyan to go to his village to take the money since he told that the money was there. Definitely, Mr. Khalatyan was not suspicious and thought there was not danger in that slim young man and agreed to go with him. In cloudy conditions, R. Sargsyan killed Arthur Khalatyan and tried to get free of the body at night. However, according to our information, Sargsyan’s grandmother saw the body and cried. The reasons of murder have not been discovered yet.
