According to a survey conducted by the Armenian club of economic journalists, the first ones in the list of politicians that placed the biggest role in obtaining independence are Paruyr Hairikyan and Hrant Bagratyan. Hrant Bagratyan is the first politician that had the biggest role in the economical life of Armenia after obtaining independence. The mentioned club conducted its survey in participation with 60 journalists. The next politician after Paruyr Hairikyan that supported the independence is Levon Ter-Petrosyan. Robert Kocharyan and Vardan Oskanyan were given equal votes and are in the third place. The fourth one is former president of Karabakh, Arthur Mkrtchyan, whose name was not included in the survey lists. The next one among the economists after Hrant Bagratyan is the head of the Central Bank, Tigran Sargsyan. The third place in this list was equally given to Khachatour Sukiasian and Kirk Kirkoryan.
