Iran won’t stop the uranium enrichment project

14/09/2006

Representative of the Iranian delegation Ali Ashghar Moltanieh told France Press that the official Tehran hasn’t said that it’s ready to stop the process of uranium enrichment and added that there has never been such a proposal. It is worth mentioning that the negotiations between the secretary of the chief national security council of Iran Ali Larijani and supreme representative of the European Council’s foreign policy and security issues department Javier Solana that took place at Austria’s federal chancellor’s department are over. At the end of the meeting, both sides declared that they reached some success and hoped that the negotiations would continue.

Later, representatives of the European delegation, who wished to stay anonymous, said that Iran is ready to stop the process of uranium enrichment for two months. Let’s not forget that the UN had warned Iran to stop the uranium enrichment process by August 31 of this year and penalize the country in case of not doing so. The official Tehran says that the nuclear weapon project doesn’t mean the start of a war and Iran will not refuse.
