“Max Group” To Deal With Pig-Breeding

29/07/2005

Since 2000, the “Max Group” has rented and done work on more than
15,000 hectors of land in Armenia and Artsakh. As stated by shareholder
of the “Max Group” Khachik Manukyan, those lands have been useless.
There has been some work done on improving the situation. Water pipe
lines have been installed. The group has grown wheat, corn and planted
farms. At the present, when the “Max Group” already owns 6000 hectors
of land, it also intends on going for pig-breeding, particularly
producing pork because “when you look at the demand for pork or
chicken, the number of meat being imported you think to yourself: why
not do all that here and not keep the profit to us?” There have been
some specialists invited from Holland, France, Germnay and people who
will study our climate conditions and draw conclusions about which type
of meat will favor us because “that is a very demanding project, but we
don’t have the finances for that.”
