During the recent opening ceremony of the Islamic “For Dialogue and Cooperation” youth organization in Istanbul, Azeri President Ilham Aliyev announced that “Islam is a religion preaching peace and amity.”
“Some foreign powers look at Muslims negatively. We must prove to the world that Islam is a religion preaching peace and amity. It’s wrong to compare Islam and terrorism. Islam doesn’t preach violence, rather it defends humanistic values.”
