“The party is not a team and does not have to advocate all decisions of its members. Each member should understand that he/she is a part of that organization and that the organization has its laws, by-laws and rules of conduct. When members make decisions for themselves and for their own needs, they should reach their goals themselves too. Why should the party advocate them if they make a decision alone and don’t consult with the party?” says head of the Republican Party board Serge Sargsyan concerning the fact that Arman Sahakyan has resigned from his position for the purpose of participating in the elections of Ajapnyak community in September. In spite of the announcement of the board of the Republican party, saying that if Arman Sahakyan does not announce that he will not be nominated for the community head’s position during the coming elections they will punish him, Arman Sahakyan says that he has not changed his mind and is going to take part in the elections. Concerning this, republicans say that if he does not change his mind he will lose his membership regardless of the fact that he is Galoust Sahakyan’s son. With this the party board wants to show all its members that anyone advocating his/her own interests only and not caring about the interests of the party will lose their membership.
