After RA defense minister Serge Sargsyan joined the Republican party, the board of the party decided to give him a partial position; they are going to get back the position of the party board head that they had taken out of their by-laws. “We are going to make some changes to our by-laws, according to which we will get back the position of the party board head, which may be given to Serge Sargsyan”, said deputy head of the Republican party, Razmik Zohrabyan to journalists. In response to a question as to whether the fact that the defense minister joined a political party didn’t contradict the RA Constitution, he answered, “The fact that he is the defense minister can’t prevent him from being involved in politics, he is not a military official, he is a politician”. Besides that, the board of the Republican party is going to enlarge because “People’s Deputy” is going to join the Republican party as well, including head of the group, Karen Karapetyan.
