On July 14 there was an accident in the Armenian energetic system, as a result of which the Central community of Yerevan didn’t have electricity that day. According to “ARKA”, the head of RA energy and radiation security board, Ashor Martirosyan has said that as a result of the accident, the nuclear power plant was separated from the general energetic system, but it didn’t lead to any radiation or other danger. “It is not clear yet whether the accident occurred because of the fact that the nuclear power plant was separated from the system or if it was separated due to that accident. We don’t have any final information yet and are still in the process of finding out”, said A. Martirosyan and added that the nuclear power plant functioned well and didn’t violate any norms. According to him, the nuclear power plant will be reconnected with the main energetic system on July 15.
