No where near celebrating

09/07/2006

July 5th marked the 11th anniversary of the Armenian Constitution. However, this wasn’t a celebration for many people and was simply yet another day off from work. It is not a celebration for us because many people, including the Government, have not realized how important it is to obey the laws stated in the Constitution. Citizens of Armenia don’t celebrate that day because they don’t feel they have a Constitution. It’s not because it is good or bad, but the fact that it doesn’t work and people don’t feel that they are protected by the Constitution. In any case, “168 Hours” congratulates citizens of Armenia on this day and wishes this day becomes a real celebration in the years to come.
