International community is also to blame

During an interview, vice-president of the Armenian National Movement administration Andranik Hovakimyan said that the international community is also to blame for the current labyrinth of the Karabagh conflict settlement.

“The international community put the conflict into a labyrinth by avoiding the results of the 2003 elections and the 2005 constitutional amendments referendum. Now it’s trying to get out of the situation. The ANM has always said that the illegitimate Armenian authorities distrusted by the people can’t settle the Karabagh conflict. If the international community were to respond to the elections in Armenia and Azerbaijan, we would have legitimate authorities that would work more efficiently towards settling the conflict,” said Hovakimyan.

According to Hovakimyan, if the international community doesn’t respond to the upcoming elections just like in 2003, then there will be an even higher risk of restarting a war.
