This year, well-known poet, writer and film scenarist Tonino Guerra will be one of the honorable guests at this year’s “Golden Apricot” film festival. Guerra is author of numerous films and a movie legend. He has worked with Federico Felini, Michaelangelo Antonioni, Vitorio de Sica and Andrey Tarkovski. T. Guerra started his career when he was still in one of the Fascist concentration camps. While presenting his paintings portraying butterflies a couple of years ago, Guerra said:
“The day I left the German concentration camps was the happiest day of my life and the first time I saw a butterfly, I decided to paint it rather than eat it.”
Guerra has produced a number of films during his lifetime. T. Guerra accepted the offer to come to Armenia with great pleasure and said that he had always wished to see the Homeland of his friend Parajanov.
