According to “A1+”, the European Council confirmed the proposal made by Chairman of the National Assembly of Armenia Tigran Torosyan back in January to reconsider accepting the current members of the European Council committee on the Karabagh conflict. Based on the council’s decision, the committee will consist of ten members. Leo Platvoet, who is currently working on a report about missing Armenians, Georgians and Azerbaijani, has been elected as member of the “United Lefts” committee.
“I think that this committee is much more balanced and will work more efficiently than the previous one, where there were people who had never worked on the Karabagh conflict and have no clue,” said Tigran Torosyan.
The members of the European Council subcommittee will most probably pay a visit to Armenia in October of this year. The committee will visit Azerbaijan in November for political issues and according to Tigran Torosyan, most of the members of this subcommittee are members of the monitoring and political issues committee. The two speakers in charge of researching the responsibilities fulfilled by Armenia and Azerbaijan will also visit the two countries in the same period.
“After the discussion of Lord Russel Jonston and head of the Azerbaijani delegation Seidov, we came to the conclusion that the delegation must pay visits to Yerevan, Baku, Stepanakert during October,” said T. Torosyan.
According to “A1+”, Tigran Torosyan also met with Chief Secretary of the European Council Terri Davis and both discussed the Azerbaijani scandal about how the liberated territories are being burnt on purpose. The Azerbaijani are distributing photographs of the burnings to the Azerbaijani delegates of the European Council and head of the Council. The photographs, according to Tigran Torosyan, have most probably been taken in Azerbaijan because there are “Azerbaijani writings”.
“This once again shows the humiliating behavior of the Azerbaijani as they try to spread lies about Armenia and Karabagh,” said Tigran Torosyan. He assures that Terri Davis accepted the fact that there are many serious issues and has promised to “find solutions”.
