“Citizens of Karabagh have actually stood up for their right for self-determination and t hey have done that according to legal, international norms. The results of the independence referendum protected these people during the war as well. The Republic of Nagorno Karabagh has proved that it has a right to be called independent by building its state and achieving great heights throughout the past 15 years. An entire generation grew up in that territory and they consider themselves as the bearers and protectors of that state. We believe that a lot needs to be done to integrate the republic with the international community”, announced Robert Kocharyan during the Black Sea summit as he spoke about the Karabagh conflict.
