“That house belongs to Bezoyan’s daughter and not Bezoyan,” said
Director of the Project Implementation Office of the Linsie
Foundation’s Road Construction Department Mr. Edik Bezoyan, who is from
Karabagh by birth. He had responded to the question of whether or not
the large house located near the kindergarten in Avan was his or not.
“Haven’t they told you anything else? Haven’t they told you that I am
the one who has repaired and asphalted the streets of Avan?” asked
Bezoyan. We asked if that was done through the financial aid provided
by the Linsie Foundation. Bezoyan replied: “Why only the Linsie
Foundation? I have constructed buildings in the city for 35 years and I
am one of the advocates of the state. I have participated in the war
and I have planned out all the roads of Armenia for the past 15 years,
including Karabagh’s roads. I have also planned out and repaired the
roads of the city too. After all, every Armenian resident has the right
to construct his or her own home. I am also building mine, restoring it
and helping others. We are building our country. I am a 50 year old
man. Don’t I have the right to make myself a little castle?” In the
end, in order to place more emphasis on how he constructs his own home
and others, E. Bezoyan added: “I will tell you. One of my relatives has
lived in the U.S. for a long time.”
