The National Assembly “People’s Deputy” faction has decided not to fill in the empty spots of the “Rule of Law” party, which has left the coalition.
“The “People’s Deputy” has been offered the positions of deputy minister, deputy regional head, etc, but we have refused. I think we are doing the right thing because there is not much time left before the elections and the people won’t be able to express their opinions about the “People’s Deputy”,” said Hakob Hakobyan during an interview with “168 Hours”. It is worth mentioning that for a while, the authorities had tried convincing leader of the “People’s Deputy” faction Karen Karapetyan to be appointed as chairman of the National Assembly and then vice-speaker, however he had refused.
