Armenia didn’t get elected

The UN Human Rights council elections took place on May 9 in New York. According to head of the International Organizations Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Valeri Mkrtumyan, Armenia had also put up its candidacy to get elected in the council. The biggest struggle was in the Eastern European group where 13 countries had applied for 6 spaces. Armenia got 70 votes in the first stage, which was not enough to go on to the second stage.
