“Years ago, back in 2000, the land defenders’ wing separated from the Armenian Republican Party and founded the “Republic” party, but our party didn’t lose anything from that. I am sure the party has its center, many dedicated members and that the party will stay true to its customs even by removing a sector,” said head of the ARP and Prime Minister of Armenia Andranik Markaryan in an online ARP interview. Markaryan added that the party is “sorry” for the political party splits.

During the interview, the Prime Minister of Armenia also touched upon Armenia-Iran relations in the context of U.S.-Iran relations and what Armenia will possibly due in case of a war between the U.S. and Iran. According to the prime minister, it is rare that a war will start against Iran. As for Armenia, Iran has always been a neighboring country.

“Iran is leading stable politics in the region and we have to support Iran in continuing that politics. But the U.S. and Iran have to solve their matters on their own,” said A. Markaryan.
