Armenian Americans living in Armenia are planning on organizing a demonstration on April 24 called “Yellow ribbon” near the Tsitsernakaberd Genocide monument. The purpose is to show our partner countries that they shouldn’t keep silent and deny the fact that there was an Armenian Genocide. Recently, during a meeting with the Armenian Diaspora representatives in the U.S., the US Ambassador to Armenia Mr. John Evans, said that things should be called as they are, after which the US Department of State took action and called the Ambassador back. They also made the Ambassador make an announcement and deny what he had said. There will be 500 meters of long ropes not far from the monument and the participants will tie yellow ribbons on those ropes. The color yellow symbolizes hope for the future.
