In 2005, 137 organizations imported goods to Armenia from 37 countries with a customs worth covering 14,92 billion dram. This is less by 3,5 billion dram than in 2004. According to the head of the governmental department on charity programs, Simon Ter-Simonyan, the capacity of charity programs has been cut down as a result of the fact that those organizations are turning to development programs from charity programs. Last year about 145 international and domestic organizations implemented charity programs in Armenia, 53 out of which were long-term programs, and 92 – short-term programs.
